A Delicious Evening

23 Oct

Homemade fire pit:             $110

Birch firewood:                     $5.99

Home cooked meal:            $25

Eating the meal:                   $3.98 (for a bottle of TUMS)

Thinking about how blessed you are in life while watching your husband play his guitar around a gorgeous fire:   PRICELESS.

Tonight turned out to be a pretty awesome night… which was unexpected. The news said it would be raining and my lack of motivation said that I would still have a heap of homework to finish. Well, the rain ceased and as for my homework…, we all need breaks, right? My husband suggested a bonfire, (as long as the rain held out) and I agreed to a home cooked meal. I love to cook, but when I’m in school it is very difficult to take on the kind of time-consuming meals I enjoy cooking. Tonight’s meal wasn’t too complicated though, and man o’man was it delicious! Fresh bakery buns, grilled Portobello mushrooms, roasted red peppers, ménage cheese, with a side of spicy spanish corn. Yeah, now you know why the TUMS was necessary.

Sounds like my kind of night! Especially when there are bon fires and guitars involved. Although, if I WERE there smores would have also been on the menu! *wink*

I’m with ya Keely. I love smores too but I didn’t have any of the ingredients for my impromptu dinner. NOTE TO SELF, always have smore stuff on hand!
